Best place for Repair

I am still at a loss as to how it happened but at some point today one of the side windows on my TT broke.
I am wondering if it is better to let an RV dealer do the repair or a local Glass shop.
I have full coverage insurance on the trailer so I am only have to pay the Deductable for my insurance.

RE: First TT

Check with your local DMV.
When I purchased mine from my in laws they had lost the title.
We went online and printed the duplicate tile request. (from the DMV Website)
They filled out their portion and gave it to me signed.
I Went to the DMV Paid the $6 for the duplicate title form needed and paid my
taxes etc and walked away with a plate in hand.
All you may need is the Bill of Sale and the duplicate title request.

RE: TV Mileage

146K on my 1996 K2500 Burb. with the 350 Vortec
Only had it just over a year.
Taking it out on our longest trip with the trailer later this month (125 Miles each way) and will be a good test for my towing Mileage

RE: Leaving tires on TT

Ask the county if you can put covers on your tires to protect them from the harmful UV Rays.

RE: Should I upgrade Voyager to Prodigy?

I used to be one part of the group that felt that a brake controller is a brake controller. as long as it sent power to the magnets in the axles to stop the trailer it would work and do the job.
Until this past weekend..
I Stumbled across a Prodigy at a yard sale for $35 and after a quick phone call to my FIL (who has the exact same model) I made the purchase and then with his help installed it on Saturday.
I had to move my trailer yesterday for some branch trimming on the bushes I park next to and had a chance to play with the Prodigy. After getting it adjusted properly for the trailer I hit my brake pedal and WOW the difference I stopped quickly and I knew it was working.
I used the controller that was already installed in my Suburban (Kelsey Energize) and it seemed to work OK and I could confirm they worked by manually activating the TT brakes and noticed it slowing.
I would now have to say a prodigy is a good controller and that Yes there is a difference between brake controllers.

RE: Should my marker light blink when signaling?

Sounds like a Ground issue to me.
When I was Picking up my TT (had to re wire it from the 7 pin Round to the 7 pin Flat connection) U Kept getting weird light behavior.
Definately go back to the Installer of the additional lights and make them get it working with your TV as you didn't have a problem before THEY added the additional lights on your TT.

RE: Hitching tips

I refrence to where I am side to side making sure I have the same amout of trailer on each side of my TV as I back up to my trailer. I also line up the Monster level on my TT with the pillars of the doors on the rear of my suburban so that I cannot see the level. If I am in my driveway I watch where my front tire is in relation to the gutter as I stop just as the tire comes off the black top to the cement and I know I am there. (I realize this doesn't work in a CG. I am getting to know how close I should be to the trailer by the position of the trailer in my mirrors)

RE: WANT CHEAPER GAS PRICES

Wont work.
Saw that last year as well as year before. and prices really haven't changed much.
to truely change prices we need to get the "dipsticks" in Washington and the environmentalists to approve to drill for our OWN oil and build more refineries here in the US.
Petiion your congress /senators and constantly bug them to get this approved.

RE: What's the narrowest you have had to back up your trailer?

I have a truck bed trailer that I backed into a back yard that had about an inch clearance on each side.. I got the trailer all the way into the back yard and had to climb over it to get myself into the yard.
This was after I had driven my truck into the back yard to pull down an old shed.

RE: Whos says them cheap little TT grills are no good?

I use a table top grill I bought 14 years ago (it is in dire need of a new burner unit ) I clean off the grilling surface with a good brush.
as for storage I let it cool overnight and put it back into a plastic bag then back into it's place in the trailer.

RE: Why Dog Owners get a bad reputation "rant"

I also enjoy dogs. but while I am in a campground I don't want to step in dog stuff.. mine or someone else's Clean up after your pets.
We had 2 dogs with us over the weekend and the were in a pet corral or being held.. when they weren't they were on their leash.

RE: Between a Rock and a Hard Place.

My dealer has been able to find something which is close. It has the ebony interior instead of the titanium we wanted. The other big difference is the one on the lot does not have the extendable towing mirrors. What do they think people will use this truck for, cruising downtown?
At this point my options are limited. If I take the truck the dealer has found what are my options for mirrors? I checked with CIPA and they do make a product for the 08 Sierra. Is there any way the dealer can swap the stock mirrors for the towing mirrors?
If you are ok with the different color.
Accpet the deal only after the dealer installs the extendable towing mirrors. (make this part of the agreement and put it in writing)

RE: First Post-Hope its a good one

You will get several answers to this question.
Come up with a list of what features that you want in your trailer and then find one with those features for the best price and of course within the limits of your jeep to pull it.
Most Popups should come in fine. .
not to suggest brands but you may look into a Trail Manor or Hi-lo weights to see if they would work.
I also enjoyed my Apache popup I had.

From what I have heard the transporters are not allowed to use the trailers.. they simply transport them only.

RE: Trailer Lights

test your adapter. it may be bad.
I have had to replace many adapters over the years.
I have even had to replace the plug on my trailer due to lights not working properly.
